WD Challenge - Day 3 - Lady in Red

“We’re going to be late.”

“I’m coming.”

“You look gorgeous tonight.”

“Really? I look fat.”

“You are not fat. Let’s go.”

“I’m afraid.”

“Don’t be. Everyone will love you.”

“How’s my make up? Too much?”

“No, you look amazing.”

“My hair is a mess.”

“It’s perfect.”

“There are so many people here. Let’s go home.”

“Relax. Look who’s there. Let’s go sit with them.”

“Did you see how she looked at me?”

“She’s jealous.”

“I shouldn’t have worn this. It’s too flashy.”

“You are the most beautiful woman in the room.”

“I’m old.”

“Don’t be silly. Let’s dance.”

“I don’t want us to be the only ones on the dance floor.”

“I want to show you off.”

“You are crazy.”

“For you.”

“I can’t dance.”

“I’ll lead you.”

“I’m embarrassed. They’re all looking at us.”

“At you.”

My husband spins me around the dance floor, and the world fades away. I forget I can’t dance. Push down my fears. Ignore the inner critic. Let the music carry me. This is our song. For a few magical moments, it’s just him and me. I’m his lady in red.
